Conservation Area Architects
Conservation areas are subject to special planning laws. They are designated by local planning authorities (LPAs) due to their special architectural or historical interest. These areas might be affected by special controls called ‘Article 4 Directions’, which restrict the work you can normally do without planning permission.
Planning permission may be required for changes to a building’s appearance or demolition within a conservation area.
