Planning Success in Blaby, Leicester
Walters Architects are pleased to announce we have received planning approval for two new dwellings in Blaby, Leicester. The proposal is for the conversion of an existing coach house to a two-bed dwelling and a new two-bed dwelling. Both properties benefit from off road parking and private garden spaces.
In planning terms, this was a tricky project. The narrow site meant difficult overlooking issues and the proximity to a Grade II listed building required great sensitivity. We worked with the local planning authority to agree a solution that secured a useful future for the coach house whilst respecting the neighbours.
The coach house benefits from a contemporary single storey extension which provides space for a kitchen-diner. The new-build house borrows from the architectural language of the existing building.
The local planning committee approved the application following recommendation by the planning officer.
