Single Storey Extension

This traditional three bedroom detached house had a disproportionate kitchen area which no longer suited modern requirements.

The brief called for an extension to the existing kitchen, a utility room, new ground floor shower area and a new roof over the existing garage, with the introduction of as much natural light as possible.

The solution was a single storey extension across the entire rear of the house. The majority of the ground floor plan was reconfigured to incorporate an open cut roof with several roof lights and large patio doors, as well as a new roof over the garage. This allows natural light into areas which had previously been dark.
